  • Meet & Connect

After filling out an application, the next step in our process is to set up a consultation time to meet and connect with you. This meeting provides a safe space where we will go over your application, ascertain what type of assistance we can offer, provide support to link in with other helpful community services, and allow you to shop in store.

  • Attend our Events

In the future, the Honey and Lemon House aims to host specialised events and gatherings to further meet the needs of our families. Please contact us if you'd like to stay in the loop with details.

How does it work?

  • Fill out an online application (either for yourself, or on behalf of somebody else).

  • After filling out an application, we will get in touch to set up a time to briefly meet and chat with you.

  • Next, you’ll be invited to come into the store, and shop for what you need.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • The Honey and Lemon House is a unique not-for-profit. We stock high quality items, and our heart and desire is for them to reach individuals and families within our community that are truly in need.

Therefore, the purpose of our application is for us to best understand the circumstances each individual (or family) is facing, which enables us to effectively tailor our support.

  • A large part of what we do is providing physical items for individuals and families in need.

However, simply providing physical items is not our heart and soul. The purpose of our consultation process is therefore to simply meet you in person, connect on a human level, introduce ourselves, chat about how we can best assist you, and offer personalised support.

Most of the time, these meetings will be short (but there is no time limit), and will be at our storefront (held at the same time as your appointment to shop in store).

  • The Honey and Lemon House serves all pregnant mothers and parents (or guardian figures) in need. This need can be either physical, spiritual, or both.

  • Our storefront is located on Hervey Range Road, in Condon.

We will provide the exact address once we have reviewed and accepted your application. Please let us know if transportation is an issue for you.

  • Application to the Honey and Lemon House is free.

If your application is reviewed and accepted, you will be invited to shop in our store for what you need. All of our items are high quality, and super heavily discounted (between 50c and $50 for extra large items). Some items are also free.

  • Honey is one of the oldest foods in the world, having been used as both food and medicine for thousands of years. It is mentioned many times within the Bible, and represents the golden standard for sweetness, a symbol of God’s perfect provision (neither in excess, nor in lack), and His faithfulness. Therefore, the "honey" represents the meeting of genuine need, both physical and spiritual, the provision of quality products and care, as well as God’s sweetness and generosity towards His people.

Lemons are incredible fruits, packed with a huge range of vitamins and minerals that can improve digestion, boost immunity, lessen the risk of blood pressure and inflammation, and reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney stones, anaemia, and cancer. Therefore, the lemon represents taking lemons (which represent difficult life circumstances) and making lemonade (filled with healing and beneficial properties!), God’s repeated promise to be with us in all of life’s circumstances, His instruction not to fear, His unparalleled ability to rescue, and the tremendous good (the internal benefits of the lemon) that can come from outwardly sour life events and circumstances.

Honey and lemon together are a common and effective pairing that is often used to aid coughs and colds. In many ways, the two are opposites: honey is an outwardly sweet and appealing substance, but it must be consumed in moderation. On the other hand, lemons are an outwardly sour fruit, but inwardly are filled with a number of incredible healing and beneficial elements. Therefore, for the Honey and Lemon House, this powerful combination represents God’s ability to turn negative circumstances into sweet healing and provision.

  • The Honey and Lemon House relies on the generosity of donations, and we'd be delighted to accept any gently used (or new), high-quality baby and child items you no longer need.

Please see our donation page for details on what we accept, and how to give.

  • Absolutely not. Although the Honey and Lemon House is a ministry of Antioch Australia, we welcome anybody to apply, regardless of worldview or personal beliefs.
